Finally opening my shop! Prints and cards (by HeatherKadani)
Hi everyone! This class came at the best time for me because I have been trying to open my shop for awhile now. I feel like I finally had the confidence to open thanks to this class :).
LITERALLY opened my shop minutes ago. YAY!
OBSTACLES + VICTORIES:
1. Mostly, stocking my shop was a challenge. I didn't know how much to order in advance. I finally decided that I would have limited quantities and then order as necessary based on demand.
2. Photography - Not my strong point! The colors kept getting distorted when I took my pictures. Luckily I got some good advice to use natural, overcast daylight. Then I brightened them up in Photoshop.
My prints and cards are light & bright so the provided white frame was perfect. I used the frame in every print listing! I feel like it really makes the potential buyer able to visualize the print on their wall.
I made the frame square in photoshop! Don't look too closely at the border haha.
I got A LOT from this class but mostly, I realized that everything doesn't have to be perfect to open my shop and I just need to do it already! :)
