Fiesta Sunrise

I began my project by selecting a color palette and photo highlighting some of my favorite flowers... peoney...spider mum...mums...daisies...roses...greens & berries...

From my favorite flowers and color palette I found more pictures of thing that inspire me & things I treasure..... My "feel good" finds... vintage fabrics..illustrations & furniture.... ornate picture frames.... garden benches...and planters... old signs & vintage books......  Antique tea sets & linens..    From that file of pics I narrowed it down to just a few photos and created my Mood Board...

A few more pics for inspiration!!

I chose the name Fiesta Sunrise for my project..... because the colors are so vibrant and colorful .. Celebrate...& Celebration of Sunshine & the Sunrise ..

Then next step in my creative process included a stack of computer paper ...a clip board & several sharpened pencils with extra erasers ...  and I went to work drawing & doodling .... In all I had 20+ pages of drawings but have narrowed them down to these final flower theme drawings.....

On to the next video and the start of Adobe Illustrator !! I have never used Illustrator but am very familiar with Photoshop...

Practice...Practice...Practice......

Few finished  motifs ...

And a few more ..............

Now on to grouping them & creating my patterns...

Here are a few of the clusters I used to make my final repeat pattern....

Creating the pattern was so fun....I literally spent days playing with the flowers & colors and deciding on what I liked best for my final repeat pattern... I have so many patterns to work with from these few drawings that I may end up having dozens of swatches to work with..  I did finally narrow it to 1 pattern...

Here is my final repeating pattern.....  Fiesta Sunrise  This is the swatch ...

And how it looks as a repeat pattern.....

I love how this turned out...and need about 10 yards of this in fabric to sew up some new projects !!  Especially some sweet spring sun dresses for my little grand-daughters!!

I loved this class so much !!
