Festive Deer letterpaper

For the first due date 11th November.

My Idea for a motif.

For my letter paper, I want to make a winter forest kind of motif. I really like forest and I think it would be super cute to send my family letters this holiday season.

I have created a little winter mood board with some forest animals and forest pictures for inspiration. Maybe if I can think of some winter flowers I could include those?

So this is my inspiration for now!

Second due date 15 November

Sketch and experiment.

Unfortunately, I took the picture for the experiment a little late so the light turned out weird but I'll try to upload a new picture for the next session.

I really enjoyed playing around with the colours and tried some of the banners I saw in your example. The whole thing ended up being a little messy, but I had loads of fun.

I just had a little trouble with frost edged leafs which I wanted to try with my composition.

For my composition, I decided to stick to two deer just to keep it a little bit simpler. I think that if I start the deer a little but higher then drawn above they will be beautiful in the composition.

I also wanted to try some frost edged leafs in the left upper corner, but I'll have to figure out how to properly paint that!

22 November Due date

I tried to start is all of very light and let the colour find its way before including the details. I think the leave ended up a little bit too much to the centers.

But I do think that the end result looks very festive.

I think the frost edges turned out okay in the end and adding the snow made it look very winter like.

I had  a lot of fun creating this!  Even if it didn't entirely turned out the way I envisioned it. (that deer looks a tad bit angrier than I had hoped)
