I have a confession to make: I find abstract painting difficult. I keep trying to make something recognizable out of the shapes and colors forming on the page. It’s hard to let go and let things just be what they are. But I have found over time that if I keep doing the difficult and uncomfortable, it can all of a sudden “click” one day. So I’ll keep trying. In the meantime, here’s the full version of my abstract painting:
This was done with a variety of watercolor paint brands on Canson 140lb cold press watercolor paper. I have made my own watercolor sketchbook using a comb binder. I really like the size of it, and I get to put way more pages into it than a store-bought watercolor sketchbook.
