DAY 10:  TIME

I always thought of sunsets, whenever I hear time. It just reminds me of how quickly time passes by, but the beauty of life makes each day worthwhile.

So, I don't like my watercolor that I've been using so far, I've been having difficulty mixing the colors. maybe, I'll try another brand and see if it'll improve or its just me :). It just didn't create some effects that I was hoping for, but still had fun practicing :)

DAY 9: TEXTURE

I like looking at different textures, like the stain of rust on metal or deteriorating old wall surfaces. The different surfaces all put together just wires up my imagination, like an abstract painting waiting to form, of new ideas, a memory or just plain dreams unfolding right before your eyes.

In recreating these textures, I've experimented with salt, bleach, white paint, poster color and trashbag and even hairspray in creating these textures. I've enjoyed experimenting with different mediums that I've made a lot of studies, but I'll be just posting 2 for this day.

DAY 7: COMPOSITION

This time, I just wanted to test my instinct in painting loosely and freely without having to sketch :)

DAY 6: COMFORT

I was looking for a nice flower field photo on the web, and I've stumbled upon this photo, a girl wearing flower crown in the middle of a field, with big fluffy clouds and a nice warm sun in the background. I don't know whether she's crying or laughing hysterically, that's why she's hiding her face.

For me, a comfort zone is where you are at peace, and where you can be who you are, wear anything you like. A zone where you can laugh, cry and nobody gives a damn if you are looking like crazy. Just freedom.

DAY 5: SHADOW

One of the shadows that I enjoyed are the shadows of trees and mountains. Not only it gives us shade, but how it amplifies the majestic size of the mountain and the way it accentuates the silhouette of the trees. It displays the power of these gigantic nature over us. It makes you feel vulnerable, gives an eerie feeling, but in a kind of enchanted way.

DAY 3: MUSIC

I was listening to my playlist, I was actually listening to " Somewhere only We Know", but then it was already ended, and the next song played, "The Only Exception" by Paramore. The colors that I've picked were pink, red, black and gold. The paint splatter, formed like a heart, and the black portion is the sadness and the broken part of the heart, and the gold splatters cover it like hope for a new love.

DAY 2 PLACE:

A place that I really wish I could hang out is the fluffy colorful clouds. It reminds me of cotton candy when I was young...I think it would be totally cool if ever there's a chance to fly up there and just sort of chill while eating cotton candy clouds.

DAY 1 ROOTS:

What comes in my mind when I thought of roots, are all the experiences that had influenced our way of thinking, our family and friends that we interact with. Our beliefs, our interest etc. The rollercoaster experience of life's ups and downs. Everything in this life, what influences our style, that fuels our creativity and thus establishing our own kind of "art".

So, I have always been frustrated with watercolor and I also have the same fear and excuses for not making art. I kind of stopped for a verrry long time. And somehow, it felt that something's missing of a part of me. That's why I joined this challenge to push myself and face my fear--- And I hope to bring back this habit that I've suppressed for so long :)
