Fantastic fantasy bird postcards, a mixed media project

My introduction video : https://vimeo.com/234521290

In this class you learn a lot different mixed media techniques to make your own unique collage paper. It is super fun and easy. Specially for beginners but I'm sure advanced mixed media artists can be also inspired by this lesson.  With the home made collage paper you are going to make fantastic birds on postcards. So you can either send them to loved ones or put them into a frame to hang on your own wall. It is all about playing and having fun (and making a little bit of mess...)

You learn in this mixed media project what kind of paper you can use, what kind of materials to decorate the paper and how to decorate the paper. You learn about glue the paper and how to make a fantasy bird out of a piece of paper. And I tell you some tips and tricks how to solve problems.

You need:
Paper: plain print paper, magazines, old books or newspaper paper.

Waterproof  markers and posca pens

Acrylic paint

a large flat brush and a smaller brush

a palet

Acrylic ink or waterproof ink and a calligraphy pen

Oil pastels

pencils, colored and just a plain pencil

a cloth

White gesso

Glue: gel medium matt and a glue stick

An old credit card

Some printmaking stuff around the house like plastic foil, a lid or things like that.

White or colored cards, I use 10 x 15 cm. (4 x 5 3/4 inch)
