FINDRS KEEPERS 2013 SUMMER LOOKBOOK

My Final Project

Hello everyone

My name is Rochelle Brock of Fatleopard Photography and i'd like to present to you the Findrs Keepers 2013 summer lookbook.

Through this Shoot n' Style Skillshare class , i've learned how to be even more clear and stay on task before and during shoots.  One of the things that greatly helped me was making a checklist. The checklist helped me keep track of the tiniest of details i may have forgotten of in the moment, ( which turned out to be very helpful ) and i've learned how to better prepare myself in setting shoots up using it. Another thing that helped was the moodboard which allowed me get my vision out to my client properly and helped us to stay on the same page  throughout the duration of the photoshoot.

1. Lesson 1: My Mood Board for FINDRS KEEPERS

For the mood board I gathered a a few photos from other lookbooks and around the internet  that inspired the mood  I was going for in the FINDRS KEEPERS summer 13' lookbook . The lookbook is for the summer season so we wanted to go for a fun and playful vibe, with bright colors .  We also wanted the photos to have a very summery Brooklyn feel so we shot on a rooftop in Bushwick with lots of graffiti and at coney island amusement park. This setting went perfectly with each piece the designer created.

our goal was to capture each garment in a relaxed state & with movement while focusing on the construction and feel of each piece. we aimed for a classic fun lookbook that spoke to a younger audience.

Going over the other lookbook photographers we reviewed in the previous lesson, my work is most similar to KENNETH CAPPELLO his use of light and the expressive way he shoots is amazing, i love how each of his pictures are different and tell their own little story, but coincide together so well , i love his creative eye. Though he wasn't one of the photographers we learned about, im also inspired by VIKTOR VAUTHIER as well. His use of film and color is mesmerizing He was a major influence in the creation of this lookbook.

I am confident this project will be a great branding tool for indie designer Findrs Keepers .

The rule of 3's tip was very helpful as well. These are the 3 rules i chose for my moodboard to exhibit : Fun, Motion, Colorful

CHECK OUT MY MOODBOARD !! :)

2.  Lesson 2: My Shot Checklist

i've never made a shot checklist prior to this class before and i have to say it has helped me greatly . i wasn't stuck on what to shoot, everything went smoothly and i didn't regret not getting a shot i meant to get. i will be using them for all my upcoming shoots !

  • Front and back view of each piece
  • detailed shot of each piece
  • side view of each piece
  • full body shot of everything
  • up close detail shots
  • walking, running, spinning shots
  • show the background action as much possible (subtly)
  • Emphasize graffiti, lights, and games in background
