My "style" or preferred thing to shoot relates to a strong foothold in streetwear with a lot of sex appeal. I'm relatively new to it but I've found a few photographers in the field who really inspire me to do good work. If I had to put the mood into words, I guess I'm looking at: confident, sexy, stylish. I have a clothing brand so this stuff is really cool to me.
So I did my shoot last night with a friend after having the most trouble of all time finding a model to fit what my mood board showed. I did, however, get to do something different: shoot a straightforward picture of someone. I used my Nikon D5100 and my external flash. I had a couple of lights and just shot against a white curtain. I shot half in black and white and the second half in color. I have chosen 5 of each. I feel like I need a better understanding of how this light stuff works. These are direct from the camera without editing. Here are the results:
Here's my final selection for you guys. The overexposed pictures had me feeling limited, but I've gone from shooting everything too dark when I started shooting 6 months ago to now shooting everything too bright. I haven't been able to successfully find that medium. I do really enjoy this picture, she's really happy and her eyes are awesome:
Hope you guys enjoy it. I enjoyed shooting.
