I have started exploring watercolours for the past couple of months, and loving it, but still struggling with mixing. I'm so happy to have found those very simple and fun exercises to do :D
I'm using pans at the moment, but I prefer tubes, and will try them out with both of them.
1. Intuitive mixing exercise
With my Aquafine pans

I couldn't believe how many different mix I could get from those 12 pans, even I don't love the pure colours. Not ONE has a twin, even the very similar ones <3
With my Pentel tubes

I loved those bright colours so much!! I can't believe I never posted that picture :D
Since I did this exercise, those paints occupy most of my favourite palette. The rest belongs to Windsor and Newton I purchased separately since then. I may redo the exercise soon to explore the true potential of my palette <3
2. Colour play!
