Experimenting is pretty much the game here...

So I decided to strengthen my palette development skills. this whole process is very "timey wimey" for me and I wanted to demistify it and see if I can give it a little more clarity.

I really tried to put the finger on the process, but I feel I still don't "get it". the main pain point is I don't know what is appropriate for the client, cause I feel every direction I go i'm bulshitting.

so here is my process.

made these keyowrds list according to the brief:

brand is... (keywords)

  • adventurous
  • fun
  • modern
  • stylish
  • up-to-date
  • exciting
  • young
  • fashion-forward
  • urban
  • artisinal
  • organic

brand is not...

  • tacky
  • bright
  • cheap
  • digital

while thinking on these words and keeping them in mind, I used Spectrum to devlelop this palette:

42594246

Primary - Pink / Secondary - Green / Accent - Aqua Green

for the second palette I selected the image "bike-mountains" cause it signified for me freedom, excitemtn, independance, and adventure.

this is the palette extracted by the image:

8a572374

These are two different palettes, but I don't know if they are appropriate for the client yet.

here is the palette sheets

39ae8d74

639a9a6d

Thanks for your lesson, hope I could put it to good use :)
