Exotic Geometric Patterns

Exotic Geometric Patterns - student project

Since I am using Affinity Designer rather than Illustrator, it is not as easy to change colours, so I used layer blending modes to get a variety of effects.

The four basic patterns:

Combining two of the simple patterns adds complexity.

I really like the subtle gold in the above example and the following.

Gold is also great with the diamond pattern. Here subtle vertical stripes in the gold give a woven effect:

Wider vertical stripes in the gold add variety to the strong black diagonals of the diamonds.

Finally I used gold glitter which I created in Teela Cunningham's Metallic Magic class. You can see my project here: https://www.skillshare.com/classes/design/Metallic-Magic-Create-Digital-Foil-Textures-From-Scratch/734650498/projects/58033?via=class-details-projects-page. Have a look at some of the other projects in that class too!
