Engagement Announcement

March 11, 2015

Here's the final product! I tweaked a little bit of the design, here and there, but I'm really happy with how this came out!

I can't wait to do more. I think next time I'll use more of the nicer scapbooking paper (I used some, and loved the texture the paper had, but then for other parts I had used some plain colored cardstock I had that just doesn't have the same look). I'm pretty sure you suggested this in your video and I should have taken that advice on the paper!

I really enjoyed this class and thanks so much for the feedback Caroline! I really appreciate and loved the idea's for the composition. :)

I got a bit behind my own schedule for this project, but I had some time today to get back to it (yay!). I'm pretty much finished with cutting and starting to assemble everything/add some paint details, and I'm pretty excited for how it's turning out! Hopefully I'll be able to finish it up tomorrow, and can post I final photo. :)

Working out a final composition, and picked out some paper and a matte this weekend. Excited to get this worked out and start cutting! :) Hoping to have a final product by the end of the week. Also, thanks for the feedback Caroline!

Any thoughts or suggestions on the composition would be great! I changed a bit from the thumbnail. I think pushing back the skyline/buildings is working better, but I'm not sure yet about the moon, or lamp placement.

Hello!

So, I'm really excited about this class! I've been wanting to give cut paper a try for a while, and this is really helpful. I'm still in the early sketching/thumbnail phase (once I pick up a frame this weekend and figure out the size my piece will be I'll work out the final drawing). I think I'm going to go with sketch 'D', it'll be pretty simple (I think), which seems like a good place to start. Sorry they're all pretty cheesy, I just got engaged (yay!) and was thinking this might be a cute project to either use as art for our 'save the date' or just as a gift for my fiance. :)
