Eat Your Heart Out

I was really excited to do this project because since my days in college I have been scared of illustrator. Thank you Mikey for giving me the confidence to tackle it and honestly the results of this illustration were great.

Though I thought illustrator was going to be difficult to conquer it was actually the process of narrowing down my idiom. At first I chose the idiom "Do One's Heart Good," but after drawing my heart I realize that I did not like the idiom. Rather than get rid the idea, I decided to look for idioms that actually dealt with the heart. I was able to find "Eat Your Heart Out," which deals with jealousy but I thought it would be funny to have a heart being eaten.

For the texturing, since I did not have access to a xerox machiene or a blender pen, I decided to go a different route. I still used the basics for making texture which was seperate each part, print it out in black and then I used some masking tape to take away some ink and then scanned it back in. Just from scanning the illustrator back to photoshop it gave the image some grainy texture along with certain parts of ink missing.

Final Result

Now that I have a base for completing such projects, I am excited to do more and upload them to my portfolio. Thank you.
