Droppin' Caps: On the Night You Were Born

I chose to use the book "On the Night You Were Born" for this drop cap study. As the mother of two kids under the age of two, I don't get to read anything but kids books! Fortunately, I LOVE this story regardless! The whole story is so whimsical and I adore the message of uniqueness. One of my favorite images from the story is the idea of the moon "smiling" with wonder so of course I wanted to incorporate that into my drop cap. The first sketch includes the smiling moon as well as the night wind which is references several times in the story. The second sketch is more of a landscape with the "T" being formed by a tree and the smilling moon in the background with some night clouds. The third sketch is very similar but puts alot more of the emphasis on the moon with a standard letterform. The last sketch is the most whimsical and fun with the dancing polar bear as the "T".

I welcome everyone's feedback!! I have a pretty good idea of which direction I would like to go but would love to hear what other people have to say:) Thanks!!
