Dream in the Making

10 Year Vision

I am happy, inspired and focused. I'm up early because I've spent the first quiet hours of the morning writing my most recent blog post for work and sent it in for review before my team on the west coast even begins to stir.

After writing I enjoy a few slow yoga poses on my mat and end my meditation not with a chime but with the first stirrings of my baby in their crib. A blissful healthy chirp comes my way and I am ready to start my day with my family.

I am in our small, spacious cottage home. It is early morning on a summer day. The sun is up. I am standing in our open concept living area. I have a baby, my third child, bundled against my chest. S/he has dozed off for a post breakfast nap. I feel the cool wood floors under my bare feet. I am facing our french doors. They are flung wide open and our other 2 children can be heard playing, squealing and rustling about on the property around the house. Kent is in the kitchen making coffee, I reach back to pick up my mug and feel the butcher block counter top solid and reassuring under my palm. There are warm, delicious smells coming from the kitchen, we are expecting friends and their children this afternoon. I bow my head and rest my nose on my babys head and smile as I spot muddy foot prints on the floor. My children are little wild ones, they make me so proud.
