Drawing what I love and how do I come up with something original?

Drawing what I love and how do I come up with something original? - student project

My favorite artist at the moment is Katie Rodgers. I have done her fashion illustration classes on SkillShare.  I love beautiful things and I know that's subjective for each person. Here's a recent drawing I did from a photo.

I think I'm pretty good at copying other people's art but coming up with my own creation/characters is challenging for me. How do you just come up with something out of the blue? I have to copy from a photo or real life.

I did a class called "Draw a Simple Face" with Herma Starreveld on SkillShare, which I found really helpful.  She was so relaxed and it really helped me to let go because it didn't have to be perfect. I eventually did some great original faces that I was pretty happy with.

Today's sketch: I know these are "girlie" subjects but they are what I love.

Things I find challenging:

Different body positions

Being original
