Drawing fruits and nuts for 30 days

Drawing fruits and nuts for 30 days - student project

After watching the class and drawing the apple together, I started practicing for 30 days: Only fruits and nuts. I now have many tricks to colour my drawings in procreate.

But not every drawing went smoothly. If I select the bad drawings: the pineapple, the lemons and the dates. And if I select the best ones, they are in the cover picture: the currants, the papaya, the raspberries, the peaches, the pomegranate and the cranberries.

So a lot of berries made it to the best, it takes a lot more time to draw, but I'm really proud of the result.

I learned a lot about building up the painting of a drawing in procreate, adding texture, highlights and shadows.
I’d surely recommend this beginners skillshare class, because it took me a big step further in learning to draw digitally using the procreate brushes.

The advantage of drawing for 30 days: you see real progress. An other advantage of drawing every day, now I really look more attentive at my reference picture, carefully looking and drawing what I see, not really thinking about the end result.

The reference photos came from Unsplash which helped a lot.

Here you find my 30 pictures, in my instagram you can find the timelapses of every drawing.
