Drawing Creative Letters - An Introduction to Lettering for Beginners

Drawing Creative Letters - An Introduction to Lettering for Beginners - student project

I got a degree in graphic design but didn't start lettering until after taking a few skillshare classes. I loved the class and recommended several people to take it. A few of my friends told me that even though it was a beginner class it was still a bit over their heads. So, here I am, after years of being a skillshare student, about to teach my first class. The class will be aimed at absolute beginner lettering with the simplest project imaginable, one creatively drawn letter. We'll start with fundamentals, my creative process and end with completed letter.

So here's what I have so far.

Class title: Drawing Creative Letters: An Introduction to Lettering for Beginners

Here's a letter terminology sheet I drew for the class and will have it available as a resource download.

I finished my shot list and all my still shots for the video. I also found some fun music and just started playing around with imovie. Instead of working on the intro first, I decided to go with one of the easier to talk about lessons in my class. I'm hoping by the time I record all my lessons I won't be as nervous to record myself talking to my phone for the intro!

Whew! What a month. I just completed my first skillshare class as a teacher in the November Teach Challenge!

I have really been working hard on marketing my class and am pleased with initial signups, however, does anyone have advice on how to get people to upload projects and leave a review?

Thanks in advance!
