Douglas Horan MFG Co. - Menswear and Accessories

As a young child I had a loving father who was taken far too quick from me at age 6. I grew up with my mother who did her best to raise a young man without a father. As I grew and learned on my own what an impression, good morals and manners were. Without a the lessons of a father learned how to dress like a gentleman and present myself in a professional manner. As a advocate of men who dress well daily, I wanted to pay homage to my father by starting Douglas Horan MFG Co. a small start-up of menswear and accessories geared towards man who in live face hardship and don’t necessarily have guidance from a father figure. I wanted to focus my look at aesthetics by looking at existing heritage brands that have remained relevant but have also progressed with the changing times. My mood board depicts great vintage typography as well as photographic reference to get a real feeling of what it was like to be a well dress person who has pride in their appearance.

Please feel free to comment on anything that might help with my journey. I’ve been truly inspired by Jon as well as all the great work by everyone in the class.

Thursday May 30, 2013 - Like Jon mentioned in the previous message to the class, I've been struggeling with getting concepts up with my full-time job, my freelance work and other projects. Will have this updated by the weekend with Moodboard and Logos. Thanks for everyones patience.

Sunday June 2, 2013 - UPDATED - I manage to get all my inspiration together for what I think is a good mixture of old and new. (Please feel free to email me and I will be able to help if you want to credit the artist for these works.) Will also post previous iterations of logos I was thinking about when I first start. Though they are rough, they may help in the end with what i was initially thinking about a year ago when I had the idea of creating this brand.
