Here's the process of the illustration I created for this class.
Step 1: Choosing a Reference Photo
This is the picture I chose to use it as a reference photo.
By the way, this awesome dog is Balú. He's my lovely cousin dog and he's gorgeous!
He's usually very chilled and loving. He loves going to the beach to run, play with the waves and make holes in the sand.
Step 2: Base Drawing
Here's my base drawing before painting the illustration. I drawed it by looking at the reference photo. Printing the reference photo in white and black helped me a lot in the drawing stage.
Step 3: Creating Colors
Mixing colors and testing them on a piece of watercolor paper. The goal was preparing the few main colors that I would need in the final illustration.
Step 4: Painting the illustration
These are some pictures during the painting process.
And here I added some texture and final details with white opaque watercolor and colored pencils. Then I created an easy and neutral background:
I framed the original illustration for my cousin :)
And I also scanned the original illustration so I can use it in other projects...
Some fun use examples!
I can't wait to see your illustration project! :)
Hi there lovely people,
I painted some more doggies using the same process and tecnnique, so I thought it would be nice to share them here as extra examples. I hope you like them!
