Digital Botanical Drawing Practice

I'm practicing both drawing this style of abstracted botanicals and working entirely in a digital format.  I drew all of these in Photoshop and then created the final wreath from some of the parts and pieces.  I also experimented with taking my sketches into Illustrator and turning them into vectors. That needs a little more work but I'm excited to see where it goes.  This class inspired me to finally focus on making a drawing practice.  I'm more of a collage and mixed media artist but I've always wanted to try my hand at drawing and illustrating.   This is my first time uploading a project here.

I used some of my photos of flowers as inspiration for the Zinnia here.  I've watched a bunch of different drawing classes recently and I think I'm starting to hone in my style.  I'm excited to keep practicing and see how my style developes.

I definitely need to work on drawing wreaths.  The vine one turned out better than the floral one.

I scanned an older ink doodle, extracted part of the vine and used it as part of my final digital wreath.

Here is my final wreath. I used some of the techniques from Dylan Mierzwinski's class Illustrating Flowers & Arranging Bouquets in Photoshop to add the color.
