Hi! Loved this class. I feel this really kick started my journey. This was my first real attempt at concept painting and digital art, and there were tons of great skills and tips that I'll try my best to remember in the future!
I really enjoyed the workflow, it was easy to wrap my head around as a beginner. From sketch, to grayscale, to color, to detail, it all just made sense. I liked designing the trees, and the details on the structure. I feel I could lose hours doing that alone.
I struggled a ton with the mountains. How you made your cliff faces and rocky textures is beyond me! I feel, correct me if I'm wrong, it has everything to do with light, and understanding where it's coming from, and where it's going. I feel if I had used proper reference material it would have been slightly better. I struggled with the atmosphere too, since this process was at the very end of the painting process, I feel it would be too easy to rush through it, because you're eager to finish, and I feel that has the potential to make or break the piece. Also, I've never drawn or painted a person or figure in my life!
Overall, I learned a ton about concept, light, scale, and composition. I'll be sure to check out your other classes, and PLEASE let me know what I need to work on. Thanks so much!
