This class was a great little bit of inspiration, as I recently bought a gouache starter set for another project. I didn't follow the techniques outlined in the videos all that closely for this particular painting, but I'll definitely keep them in mind for future projects.
I was recently reminded via text message that the quokka is an animal that exists and I knew instantly that they would be a perfect fit for this class project. Here's the reference photo I used:

I was working in my sketchbook (60lb weight paper) for the sake of convenience, so the paper wasn't the best match and I ended up working with a much dryer brush to keep from ruining the paper. I'm also currently addicted to Micron pens because I like the crisp, bold look of the lines they make, so I decided to incorporate them and turn this into a mixed media project.
Ultimately, I'm happy with the way it turned out, even if my painting technique still needs some work.
