For this project, I cataloged my existing watercolors, minus my old cotman set. My collection has several colors from sets that I had purchased (Such as Denise's Earth friendly palette, Qor's 12 introductory set and 6 High chroma set, and a Daniel Smith primatec set), so I have several colors that are duplicates, or near duplicates.
I put together a palette of colors that I had duplicates of while keeping my favorites on my main palette. This 14 color set consists mostly of DaVinci watercolors for 2 reasons. First, I love how the Qor watercolors bloom and disperse, and Second, the palette only fit the DaVinci half pans. I bought some cheap half pans when I got my Qor set, and they are shaped very differently than the DaVinci proprietary half pans. I have and equivalent color on my main palette to each of these colors, in many cases the same color, just a different brand.
The colors on this palette are: Ayralide Yellow, Golden Ochre, DaVinci Red, Alizerian Crimson, DaVinci Violet, Ultramarine Blue, Indanthrene Blue, Phthalo green, Viridian, Green Gold, Burnt Sienna, Quinacridone Burnt orange, Burnt Umber, and Raw Umber.
Aryralide Yellow plays the part of the cool yellow and there isn't a cool blue. Viridian from Qor is on this palette because I do not like how it works, and I wanted it off my main palette. This would make a great travel palette.
