Cuffee and Tea

Cuffee and Tea - student project

Hello! My name is Richard Cuffee (thus the name Cuffee and Tea - da dum tshh). I am an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and my major is Finance and minor is Mandarin Chinese.

This project started for me mid May, about a week ago. Recently CEO of Zappos Tony Hsieh has purchased the majority of downtown Las Vegas (not to be confused with the Strip). He is renovating downtown in an effort to bring more culture and sense of community to Las Vegans. Part of that project includes setting aside $50 million for local start ups. My idea is to open a coffee shop downtown.

My vision with Cuffee and Tea is to create a space where locals can get a cup of coffee with friends and feel a sense of belonging. A chiche coffee shop that is a creative space and relaxing place away from home while providing a venue to serve the community. Cuffee and Tea will be a two story coffee shop with seating on the first floor or second floor balcony.

The first floor can facilitate open mic nights, poetry slams, and musical performances. The second floor will have additional seating on the balcony and have a community conference room that organizations can reserve for meetings.

My ultimate goal is to create an atmosphere and a coffee experience that people will come back for. There is still a lot more work to be done and refining to do.
