CrowdAppraise

CrowdAppraise makes business evaluation social and collaborative.

The JOBS Act of 2012 has approved crowdfunding and Congress should have the official regulations formed by this summer. Pretty soon every American will be able to invest as little as $100 in a startup.

That's great, but I know squat about analyzing a business.

With CrowdAppraise, we can evaluate a business together.

MVP (minimum viable product)

A startup has a profile page where it will be analyzed. Users interactively compile a list of Opportunities and Threats that face the business (remember that SWOT analysis in b-school? strengths and weaknesses are for internal evaluation, so I'll start with opportunities and threats). Users can upvote/downvote other user entries to rank their importance.

The Vision

The CrowdAppraise platform is the GitHub for business evaluations. The profile page showcases a complete business evaluation composed by users. Lightweight enough to spark a "CrowdAppraisal" from a twitter conversation/techcrunch article. Robust enough to be utilized as a serious investment evaluation tool.

_________

This will obviously take a ton of work to actually become a platform, but I think it's a cool idea :)

I'm debating the name: CrowdAppraise or CrowdAppeal. Let me know which one you like better!
