Crossing the Bridge

Lesson1: Lighting, cropping and composition

I took this picture using an iphone 5 a few days ago on my way to my new job, at 8:30am. I really liked the architecture of the bridge (and the building behind wich I will capture one of these days!) but I didn't have much time to try different angles so I took a couple of shots thinking on framing later. I used VSCOM cam to process it and cropped to square using the Rule of Thirds mostly to emphasize the bridge's structure. I used LV1 filter and enhaced contrast and highlights to create a more vibrant image.

I also tried a black and white version using B4 filter, and added contrast, exposure and saturation to make it a litle more dramatic, but I still like the color version better.

I really look forward on getting Cubby's and peers feedback on this one. Thanks in advanced!

Lesson 2: Explore the familiar & new environments

1. This building’s architecture is pretty rare so I thought it would be a good picture to share with the class. I took this one on a rainy day, and enhanced it using both VSCOcam and Afterlight apps.

2. This place is also very nice, located in front of the building I shared above. This was taken a sunny day, early in the morning. I enhanced it using VSCOcam.

3. This beautiful lady is my mom! She is “camera shy” so she doesn’t know I took it (shhh!). I took this picture on mother’s day (october 20th, here in Argentina), showing she spoils us so much she didn’t let us do the dishes even that day. She’s the sweetest woman I know so I hope you like the picture because it’s warm as she is :)

I really look forward on getting your feedback! Thanks in advanced :)
