Creating a Trace Monotype Print

Class Topic:
Creating a Trace Monotype Print

Project Idea:
One of my favorite sources of inspiration is nature, so that is what I'm going to recommend that you turn to. Nature has so many different shapes, textures, and lines, so I'm sure that you'll find something that will inspire you for this project.

1. Find an object from nature that you would like to draw. For something on a smaller scale, such as this, I usually recommend something that you can hold in your hand. Think in terms of leaves, flowers, small plants, birds, butterflies, or even fruits or vegetables.

2. Draw on your chosen natural object using line. Be sure to share your drawings as you go!

3. Create your trace monotype print using the process that you have just learned. And of course, be sure to share your finished product once you are done.
