Creating a Display Typeface: A Beginners Guide

Class Outline:

BUILD YOUR LETTERFORMS
• create your foundation letters
• form your full alphabet

TRANSFER TO GLYPHS
• set up your file for vector import
• copy your alphabet into glyphs

FINE TUNE YOUR FONT
• adjust kerning, spacing, sizing
• test your font in glyphs

EXPORT YOUR FONT!
• export your font
• build a hero shot for your new font

Class Project:

Use your new working display font and show it off in a 1000x6000 advertisement for whatever you wish! (Always wanted to create a fake ad for your local laundromat? Probably not... but here is your chance to experiment)

Use whatever supporting fonts you think work, but let your new font be the hero!
