Create with a Calm Mind

Creativity needs space, time, and energy foster new ideas, projects, and movement. The overstimulation of our society clouds us from our creative minds.  

This course will provide tools to create ways to clear your mind for a calm mind. 

To help me be accountable to the deadlines. I am going to highlight in "BOLD" what is completed:

Key Dates + Milestones: July 1st - July 31st

Milestone 1: Start Your Class Draft - Due Sunday, July 3rd (YEAH DONE !) 

  • Assignment: If you haven't done so already, start your class draft at www.skillshare.com/teach by clicking "Start a Class." Your class draft is where you'll upload your class information and videos before publishing to Skillshare.

Milestone 2: Class Topic and Project - Due Tuesday, July 5th (YEAH DONE!) 

Milestone 3: Outline - Due Monday, July 11th (YEAH Done !) 

  • Assignment: Complete your own outline using this outline template.
  • Deliverable: Share a link to your outline in your class project.

Video 1 : What's happens when we don't have a calm mind?

Take Away Points: A diagram of the mind when it is cluttered, and a diagram of the mind calm and clear and the potential the mind can create.  

Video 2:  How to identify the internal barriers to creating a calm mind?

Take-away Points: Learn to conduct an internal scan of barriers, negative cues, bad habits, and stories you harbor that keeps you from your creativity potentials.  

Video 3: How to identify the external environment barriers to creating a calm mind?

Take-away Points: Learn to conduct an environmental scan that triggers your internal barriers. 

Video 4: How to design your internal and external triggers for creating a calm mind?

Video Format: Slides with voiceover.

Take-away Points: Learn to redesign these internal and external triggers.  

Video 5: How to use a calm mind to foster creativity using design thinking?

Video 6: Summary of Tips and Challenges of sustaining a calm mind for creativity.  Video Format: Slides with voiceover.

Milestone 4: Your Introduction Video - Due Monday, July 18th (YEAH DONE!)

  • Deliverable: Post your introduction video or a sample video lesson on Youtube, and embed the link into your project or share the direct URL.

Milestone 5: Wrap up Filming & Start Editing Your Class- Monday, July 25th (YEAH DONE!)

  • Optional Deliverable: Post an edited sample video lesson on Youtube, and embed the link into your project or share the direct URL.

Milestone 6: Publish Your Class - Due Sunday, July 31st

  • Finish recording your class videos, and upload them to your class draft (click "Start a Class").
  • Deliverable: Publish your class to Skillshare and share a link to your class in your project by Sunday, July 31st at 11:59 PM EST!

Milestone 7: Market Your Class - August 1st - August 7th
