User Acquisition: The 5 Keys to Acquiring New Users for Free

Are you trying for all types of courses or will you start with a niche market?

Right now all the material is mainly technology oriented (such as classes from Udacity, EdX,  Coursera).

I really like the concept of what you're site it doing.  In fact, I just discovered some classes of interest on Udemy that I wouldn't known about otherwise.  Seems a bit focused on tech coding type classes.  Do you anticipate more classes in the entrepreneurial/startup area?  Would love to be able compare classes across websites; I don't know of any other aggregator of online learning classes, so this is really unique.

What's your user acquisition strategy been?

This is a side project (used to learn Rails) so haven't really thought about it. I have ~150 users and most traffic is organic with a few referrals from HN and SachaGreif.com.

I think that a good starting strategy would be to tap into the online learning communities on HN and reddit as well as reaching out to journalists that have covered sites that offer the courses listed (such as Udacity, EdX, MIT Open Courseware and so on). 

Another strategy (or part of it) could be to add a way for users to "commit" to take a class and then have them share that across their social networks to publicly announce it - it would be a "soft commit" for a user and for me a way to get my viral coefficient up.

Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions?
