Cookin' up color in the Kitchen!

I had heard of Live Paint before, but I hadn't used it till now. This is a pretty cool feature for Illustrator novices like myself. I've often wanted to color line drawings, but was deterred by not knowing an efficient way to do so. Thank you Helen for providing the understanding and experience using Live Paint. I feel confident I can now add this to my "tool belt" for future projects.

My take-aways from this course:

  • Never again will I be intimidated by the prospect of coloring a line art image. Yay!
  • I was surprised that the wobbly strokes I created using the pencil during the outline phase didn't result in wobbly color edges. That's a nice surprise.
  • Taking the time to color additional line drawings will (I think) provide me with helpful practice working with color schemes.
  • Illustrator is such a different "animal" compared to Photoshop. I have a long way to go to be as comfortable in Illustrator as I am in Photoshop. But then, that's the fun of all this, isn't it?

My kitchen wouldn't win any home decorating contests. But, it was a very good exercise with Live Paint.
