Continuous & Contour Exercises

Continuous & Contour Exercises - student project

This class was such a great exercise in relinquishing control and being okay with an unknown outcome. Letting the drawing just emerge into what they are going to be. I think this is such an important exercise in art, but this is something that translates to the state of the world.

This piece ended up being the favorite that I created.

                               Continuous Line- Non-dominant hand

I am really happy with how this turned out and am thinking about adding some gouache to this piece.

Continuous Line Dominant Hand

This ended up being my most favorite piece and what I ended up framing.

Blind Contour Continuous Line

I actually love the oddity of this one and how it became this wild and weird creature.

Blind Contour with pickup

I love how weird and wild this face turned out to be. Its amazing how finding beauty in the obscure can change your own voice as an artist.

I adored these exercises and am going to add them into my daily practice. Its a good way to loosen up and just see where the paper, medium, etc takes you. My next journey with this is to get some canvases and do similar exercises but paint them in with acrylic. I think it could create such an interesting series of work.

Thank you for creating this class!
