Confused Leopard

Confused Leopard - student project

I enjoyed this method of creating a pattern, so I ended up making this in three different colorways using the Selective Color and Hue/Saturation tools in Photoshop.

Then I uploaded these to my Society6 store for fun. I'm not totally in love with this as a standalone pattern, but I can see potential for this to be used in other ways. I like the original and 2nd colorways the best, too.

I then took this into Illustrator, LiveTraced it, and fixed the edges to make this a vectorized pattern. I've been diving deep into surface pattern design, and the ability to allow the computer's algorithms to make some shapes for me is great! I already have an idea for how to use some of the shapes created in this method in a pattern collection I'm working on.

Thanks for sharing this method!! :)
