Common Garden

This web app allows users to upload images and information about their personal and/or community gardens.

It encourages community building throughout neighborhoods by allowing fellow users to trade plants, seeds and/or gardening skills with one another.

The apps seeks to provide a medium to encourage healthy and stronger neighborhoods, where gardens and groups can benefit from shared skills, support and resources.

This concept developed out of a research project I conducted at college where I visited residental gardens in East Los Angeles and spoke with owners about water harvesting, planting and community involvement. I was further inspired by the recent TED talk by Ron Finley, a friend of my landlord, and a community gardener here in LA.
