Cold and not so cold email to B2B suspects

Dear class,

As opposed to most of the class, I work at a B2B software company and would like your input on 2 emails I have devised in the months I work here. I have the feeling that they work the best for me. I am not a native English / American speaker.

Your help is greatly appriciated! Especially since most of you aren't in the same business/ branch / location / "corporate" mindset as me, I think your feedback and creatvity could really add value.

I have made the assumption I can't be too memorable since I (try to) sell B2B software to CFO's and his subordinates. Although in phonecalls or meetings I am pushing towards more friendly conversations, because this is more my nature.

Please find below 2 emails:

- One based on a introductionary cold call, co i sopke to him / her before. My goal is to get a opening for a meeting if this wasn't achieved during this first call

- One cold email, I haven't spoken to this person but I know they are a fit for our solution (market / vertical / volume), so I want to persuade them to meet with me

So a couple of questions:

- How is the wording? Should it be more "spoken" language?

- Should I really attached the reference case in PDF? Isn't outdated?

- Can I add some more special sauce? How?

- Is my goal punctuated enough; getting to know them better (through meeting with them)

EMAIL 1: based on a introductionary cold call

Dear mr XXXX / mrs XXXX,


Following up on our pleasant and informative call earlier today, please find below my contact details. Attached you will find a leaflet of who we are and what we do including some of our references. One of our top users within your vertical would be XXXX. If you are interested in finding out what our solution did for them please let me know, they can also be found in our Youtube reference video’s.

We are market leader in XXX, XXX and XXX management software. We supply customers with the best imaginable software and service. This will allow them to realize measurable financial and efficiency benefits and simultaneously improve relationships with customers.

Based on our conversation I found that XXX and yourself might benefit from what we offer (reason XYZ). I can explain what it could do for you as XXX later. It would be greatly appreciated if you could introduce me to right contact within XXX OR I would really like to meet you face to face (replace with either based on call). I am in XYZ during XYZ time, please let me know if a meeting of an hour would fit in your calendar during that time. I can also facilitate a Web Meeting if this suits you better. I will call in a week to check if this is an option.

EMAIL 2: mostly (ice) cold email

Dear mr XXX mrs XXXX,

I have tried to contact you by phone, but I had no have success. Therefore I have decided to send you this email.

From my role as Sales Consultant at XXX I have found your company profile. I am researching the market for companies which can benefit from our solution. Reading your role description / company description / company values, mission, vision, it could be of value to talk.

We are market leader in XXX, XXX and XXX management software. We supply customers with the best imaginable software and service. This will allow them to realize measurable financial and efficiency benefits and simultaneously improve relationships with customers.

We have done implementations for similar sized companies to yours, such as XXXX . You can find their reference case including significant savings in the video references link below. We are currently XYZ reference project at reference customer within reference vertical. We are constantly developing our software, and have some very valuable features to be released soon.
