Coffee Table

Coffee Table - student project

I very much enjoyed this class, even though at times I felt it was aimed at people who weren't complete noobs like me. However, I got a lot out of it, even though it took a little longer to grasp.

As we were planning to make a real coffee table around the house, I thought it would be interesting to create a blueprint before we started the woodwork.

I started designing in Photoshop using the grid and then moved on quickly to Illustrator. In hindsight, I think I could have gone straight to Illustrator and started drawing directly there.

The biggest lessons I learnt from this was to use Command+Y to get the wireframe view and align the anchor points as I create them and not at the end when they're all over the place. Sigh, that could have saved me a lot of time and patience.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying my hand at a second object, perhaps this time with some rounded objects.
