I started by choosing things to put in my drawing - I know I wanted birds and I had a color palette in mind. I wanted to go for a chinoiserie kind of pattern. I love pomegranates and decorative objects so I decided on a bird cage and an old mirror. I did however not want to put the bird in the cage! I did the whole project in procreate because I didn't have any materials and no printer either. Here is the final drawing.
I wanted to try both ways to put the pattern together, so I did. In both versions I put a tree branch with pomegranates in the middle space after cutting and moving the pieces.
Here are the results! Im glad I did this because I thought I would like the halfway more but I actually think it looks too busy. I had also added one extra ribbon to the halfway pattern that might be the reason why it looks so restless.
I wasn't quite happy with the result so I went back and changed the colours, and I think it got better: Maybe because there is less colours it doesn't look so busy.
The end result is fun but maybe a bit too cartoony for me. I will try this again with another drawing.
Thank you for a super fun course, I learned a lot! All feedback btw is really appreciated :)
