Club Crest/Garcia Family

I decided to design a crest for my club at my school using alot of the same techniques that Draplin taught. Here is a couple screenshots of my artboard. I would include my research, but since its a design club, I'm sure you can imagine why I used the things I did.

If you are wondering, the symbols in the shield are a sticker, pencil, screenprint clamp and a computer screen. The laurels are pen tool symbols.

Let me know what you all think, thanks.

FAMILY CREST FINAL

INSPIRATION

This include some of my inspiration for my crest. Although I live in Utah, most of my family are in California right now but if you go far enough back I have Spanish roots. This is why I gathered photos of the Spanish flag and incorporate similar colors into the final design.

The beans are rooted in my visits to my family where there would be a pot of fresh beans waiting for us to eat up. NOM, NOM, NOM.

The last two lines of text are things said within the family. My grandma is German and didn't like it when gramps spoke Spanish. Grams hated not knowing what Gramps was saying. Therefore she would yell at him "THEY ARE NOT MEXICANS"

The second one, "See you manana" is something all of my uncle and aunts would say to me when I was young.
