Classic Damask Patterns - student project

This course was very interesting to watch and all the exercises where very useful. I took my time with exercises and really enjoyed the process. This was my first time trying this kind of technique and I cannot find words to express the excitement when reflecting the patter for a first time and seeing it on a screen.

When knowing the basis it really felt like doodling inside a triangle. 

 

So I started with some drawing exercises and used my Posca markers to fill some pages in sketchbook.

Even my little boy got excited about this and took over while I was making dinner :) He found pineapple to be just fantastic.

What followed next was lots of drawing of single triangle, intertwined and double damask:

I don't currently have illustrator, so I did my best with photoshop to come as close to the technique described as I could. Here are some coloured results:
