Circus In His Blood is a chronologically framed biographical story designed to enrich the lives of my family, and highlight Australian life and society in the early 1900s, reminding us of a bygone tradition and culture. My father died 38 years ago and in the telling of his life-story there are many gaps so the book is a collage of memories, photographs, and stories told by those who were there. This humanistic story of a family of first and second generation French/English circus immigrants is an important facet of the kaleidoscope of Australian multicultural society. It is not just a recounting or a time-line of events. It is reminiscent of a different era, a peek into fascinating way of life and a testament to a valuable life cut short.
