This is my first rough draft. Work has been crazy this week, so I didn't have as much time as I would have like to make something a bit more finished, but c'est la vie.
A little background: I wanted to letter a phrase that means something to me, but I didn't want it to be too long or complicated. I think drawing a French word (not my native language) helps me to step back from the actual words and concentrate on the letters themselves. Choisir d'être heureux means "Choose to be happy," which is something I try to be conscious of.
Some issues/comments on the project itself:
1. The flourishes are obviously not final -- I just wanted to begin thinking about how to go about adding them. My goal is to create a circle using the words and variants around the words, so I'd love any feedback that might help me with this!
2. Any ideas for apostrophes, circonflexes (the little "hat" above the e)? Is it better to not give too much weight to these items? I'm not finding much inspiration on the interwebs, so I almost feel like making these elements less noticeable.
Hoping to have a final version by the weekend so that I can begin vectoring, so any insight is much appreciated! :)
