Here's my first stop motion fire animation following Laura's instructions.
I found a ceramic frog planter and decided to animate the fire shooting from his mouth. When frogs eat chilli flies they get flame burps. That's just science.
This is my selection of replacement flame shapes. I cut them from coloured card and stuck them together with print stick. I made 7 in total at various sizes.
This is my animation set up. I found some blue card for the backdrop and used a desk lamp.
I put some plasticine clay inside the frogs mouth and I pushed the fire shapes into it to hold them in position. That worked well.
Here's the finished result. I'm happy with how it came out.
Thanks Laura, really clear instructions. I have the urge to set lots of things on fire now, in a safe non-dangerous stop motion way of course.
Looking forward to seeing more.
