Just a guy who loves to draw stuff...

I already knew what I wanted to do before starting this assignment. Since my hometown is Chicago, I decided to go with that. For inspiration, I mainy went with two things that are common here: buildings and sports. We pride ourselves with a beautiful skyline with the nation's 2nd, 4th, 7th and 8th tallest buildings (Willis Tower, Trump Tower, Aon Center and John Hancock Center respectively) and we love our sports teams. ALL OF THEM. So I just went with that, Chicago architecture and sports teams:

I wanted to combine the skyline and some of our sports teams into my hand lettering, so I sketched a couple of ideas to see where I was heading:

From there I decided to go with a combination of the top and bottom right sketches. I changed a couple of things along the way of drawing the refined sketch. If you notice, I used the H and A to accentuate both Willis Tower and Hancock Center. Also, I decided to link most of the lettering to have a better looking structure, like a building:

Afterwards, I traced it over and then vectored it to finish it up. And here is the final product:

This was a fun class to be in and learn some things about hand lettering. Hope you like this piece as much as I do. Feedback's welcomed and appreciated!
