Characters in Ink and Watercolor

Characters in Ink and Watercolor - student project

Hi Yasmina and class!

Another great class full of rich content. I am excited to share what I have created.

When I am trying new things I find myself staying pretty safe when it comes to subject matter. Girls staring directly ahead is one of the easiest and most satisfying things for me to draw, so I hope you like my little cuties.

I used a random character generator on google and the three characters I got were "Devil, Elf, and Punk Rocker."

The devil was the first one I made:

I used bottled ink and a brush for the outline, and a couple of different shades on her skin. I wish i kept the lights lighter, though. But I worked on that in my second attempt.

I am happy with the way she came out. I used bottled ink and a brush. I tried to keep high contrast between my darks and lights.

This is my final and favorite piece. I used micron pens and a diluted ink wash for the background as well as some white ink for her highlights and hair (I purchased the white ink after the other two were already finished lol)

I am addicted to ink and watercolor! I can't wait to make more!

Thanks for putting so much love and effort into your courses, Yasmina. It really shows and does not go unnoticed <3!

Another one!
