Characters from the course (with a lot of text) - student project

Here's my variant of these characters.

First off, general.

This was the first and the hardest one for me. He ended up not being much in the steampunk aesthetic. Though he still might fit in the setting, he would definitely stand out and maybe look slightly out of place.

On this approach i started from creating a silhouette, since I did not like his 'predecessors'.

____

As stated, this was the hardest one for me. This character has previous iterations:

  • I this this one is not bad, but in sections. I feel like it has too many 'busy' areas, somewhat complex silhouette and the pose is a bit awkward.

_____

  • Tried to keep some of the designs of the first versions, simplifying the silhouette. I think it has pretty good render quality, but still feels awkward and character-less.

Next up, female space hero.

Though, not the will-smash-your-face-in hero, but rather saving-lives hero.

I think adding these vibrant colors and different textures makes this character stand out, while still keeping that clean 'medic' look.

Last, but not least, warrior

Right away felt the viking vibes. Initially started with a 'brute' type of character, but ended up leaning into more of a mischievous and trickster type (that can still kick needed butts effectively).

The pose is very relaxed and static, but oh the holy flying in the wind fabrics and hair make a giant difference in my opinion.
