No matter how hard you try to keep it clean, carpets will eventually become dirty with all the drops, spills or whatever that have attached into your soles of shoes.

Don’t Rub, Blot Stains

Use a cleaning solution to dab the stain, and a clean cloth/ paper towels or a sponge. Blotting it will exert a pressure on stains to soak it. Rubbing makes the particles to get ground into the carpet fibers which leads to the premature breakdown of fibers. And remember to blot them from the outside of the stain inward, as blotting outward can spread it.

The Club Soda Solution

Maybe you have heard that club soda can recede the beer and wine stains. It is true if you know how to use it correctly.

Blot the stained area with the soda on a cloth. If that doesn’t work, make a solution mixing one part of vinegar with one part of water. Spray the solution on the stain and let it sit there for 10-15 minutes. Then by pressing a clean sponge on the stain, you can soak up the entire soaked area. You will have to repeat the process to entirely erase the area.

Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with warm water. Using your hands brush the strands in their natural direction. Finally, lay some white paper towels over the area and weigh them down with something heavy. Towels are used here to absorb the dampness.

Try Using Shaving Cream

Many references mention that ordinary shaving cream can remove general stains. Apply the shaving cream for about 30 minutes, then blot it away with a dry white cloth. Finish the treatment by spraying a solution made by mixing one vinegar part and one water part. Then wipe it off with a clean cloth.

Freeze-dried Gum.

Sometimes you don’t realize you have stepped on gum on streets until you bring them to stick on your carpet. To remove them take a few ice cubes and freeze the gum for about 30 seconds. Then when the gum is frozen, lift it up using a spoon. Cutting the strands close to the gum as close as possible you will be able to remove it completely without leaving any recognizable marks.

Use Dishwater Detergent to Remove Grease

Strong dish washing detergent is mostly able to remove stains caused by grease, diluted in water. They will cut through grease stains the same way it does with the dishes. You can put the solution in a spray bottle and spray it in the stained area.

Heat Wax

When the wax gets ripped on your floor, they quickly dry and gets embedded. You can remove them by again heating it up. Place a cloth over the wax and place the iron over the cloth to heat the wax. Then use a butter knife to scrape the wax off.

When you are done with that, place a paper towel over the area and heat it again by placing the iron over it. This way, the remnants of wax gets attached to the paper towels.

But you should not keep the iron for more than 30 seconds or otherwise, you risk burning the carpet. And be sure to use white clothes and white paper towels or otherwise the colour of them will transfer itself into the carpet when heated.

Use Hydrogen Peroxide

This can especially be used when blood stains are present. First, lose the grip of dried blood using a solution made by combining water and a mild detergent. Scrape off the blood as much as you can. Then directly apply hydrogen peroxide to the stain. This will cause foam when hydrogen peroxide contacts blood. Finally, dab the thing off using paper towels.

Organically Cleaning Pet Accidents

Any house with pets will definitely encounter a pet accident on the carpets. We prefer organic cleaning materials which cost $10 for a spray bottle. Spray the cleaner at a strain on the spot. After some scrubbing, wipe it off using paper towels or a cloth.

Cleaning Candy

When candy gets crushed on the floor it leaves sugary spots on the carpets. They easily attract debris and dirt. To remove this, first, scrape off using a butter knife and then apply soap mixed water using a sponge. Then dry it with blotting it with cloth or towels.

Deep Clean Regularly

If you want your carpets to look clean and fresh, regular cleaning is essential. Steam cleaning uses a cleaning solution and it is injected deep into the carpet via water-jet nozzles. Then the machine again collects the solution back to it along with debris and dirt. This can be recommended every six months for a family with four members.
