Camping

Started the project last night. I love the paper-cut style and was immediately pulled to this class. I'd love to be influenced by things like the Drawn adventure game series for the computer. The games have whole puzzles that are beautiful paper-cut projects with tabs that you pull and levers that you rotate to make pieces pop up and magically come to life. Now that being said, I've never done any kind of illustrative animation. I do freelance book trailers for indie authors but I want to take my skills to the next level. I'm not really an illustrator at all, but I'm going to take my time and try to do something awesome.

Sketching the project out while watching the first couple of videos. I know we're supposed to be just watching all the way through first, but I have to have something to do with my hands.

So I sketch out a little campsite in Illustrator, separating everything into layers. I haven't done much with layers in Illustrator; I am clearly a newbie. It feels weird.

Then I draw this little guy, my favorite insect.
