Cactus and indoor plants

I like indoors plants, succulents and cactus, and as we have a good selection at home, I thought I would draw a few of them!

I'm really into creating pattern, so I've been trying to mix it in as well.

After a little sketch, I have been drawing it in Illustrator, (still can't cope with the pen tool/vector stuff in Ps) and did some nice stains and ink splashes.

And I ended up with that final composition. I'm not mad at the background, can't decide if I've put too much, or not enough "soil"... Let me know what you think, so I can make a better version :)

And there is a little extra, an happy accident that happened on my desktop with the psd file :

Thanks for the wonderful class, it was great to do all these experiments, and I really want to do some more! Can't wait for the next class.

Thanks to Tom's comment, I've been working a bit more on the layout and put the plants on shelves. I've been making more textures and patterns, as it is so much fun!
