But first, MOJITO!

But first, MOJITO! - student project

For this project I'm using a mojito recipe, my choice of drink for the summer :)

I already had a chalkboard which I prepared myself a few years ago so I'm using this in my project. It's already in a frame. I had all the tools ready and couldn't find a sharpener large enough for the chalks so instead I used a knife which I use anyway to sharpen pencils, a great alternative.

Next, I searched for inspiration and put together a moodboard before I began sketching out my idea.

In the next image I've started working straight on the chalkboard but realize I need to make more sketches on paper to get the composition right. So I've recorded this image to refer to later.

I sketched out a new composition on paper and now I'm finishing the final piece.

This is my finished chalkboard. I had a lot of fun doing this, made a lot of mistakes because I didn't trace but I think I tried to do too much for my first attempt. To finish it off I displayed it on a brick wall mock-up. The frame is real though :)

Thanks for the great class Roberta!
